Recall Issued For Wayward Golf Carts Reigning Terror On The Green

E-Z-GO golf carts and off-road utility vehicles are being recalled because somebody at the factory didn't screw some steering wheels on tight enough, leaving the carts to run every which way at the pace of a potentially-lethal brisk walk.

Apparently some 30,000 E-Z-GO, Cushman and Bad Boy Buggies carts are affected, though the company is claiming "only one chipped tooth" has resulted in the assembly problem.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission says:

"The steering wheel nut may not have been tightened sufficiently, reducing the driver's steering control. This can result in a crash."

If you're a golf carter, I'm morally obligated to pass along that the recalled E-Z-GO and Cushman vehicles have serial numbers from 2823208 to 2850425 and from 3000001 to 3003187. Bad Boy Buggies vehicles have serial numbers from 8005089 to 8006013, and all of those would have been sold between August 2012 through February 2013.

For more details you can call E-Z-GO at 855.738.3711 or find the Product Recall Information page on ezgo.com and badboybuggies.com, so you've got that going for you. Which is nice.
