For the handful people unsatisfied with the Range Rover Sport's base engine but too poor for the 550-horse Supercharged monster, Land Rover brings you the 2016 Range Rover Sport HST with a V6 boosted to 380 horsepower and black trim.
The Range Rover Sport HST uses the very same 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that comes in the base model with the boost dialed up for an extra 40 horsepower. Land Rover also promises "unique chassis setting" which probably just means the camber was adjusted to fit its 21" wheels, and "HST" badges everywhere, and black trim.
I've been told Land Rover dealerships were doing so many "custom" black-trim kits for clients that the company was inspired to offer the Stealth Pack to cash in on demand. Wonder if the same people expressed interest in extra horsepower.
Based on prices of the current Range Rover Sport lineup, I'd say the HST will probably start around $70,000. I'm sure Land Rover is hoping the forty-horse bump and extra bling will be enough to entice people up off the base SE model, think it'll work?
