It's a Perfect Day For a Snow-Conquering SuperTruck Monster

As snow continues to clutter up the Eastern Seaboard, you'd be hard-pressed not to long for a ride in RaptorTRAX. It is, gently put, an unstoppable snow-chewing behemoth.

More details from our friends at Jalopnik below.

Ken Block's RaptorTRAX Is A Snow-Murdering SuperTruck

The year is young, but I think we've got ourselves a solid contender for Coolest Pickup Of 2014. The tread-wearing RaptorTRAX looks damn near unstoppable, and I can only imagine what we're going to see it do with Ken Block behind the wheel.

Block posted to his Instagram that this beast is Ford's insane F-150 Raptor desert-running truck modified by Ford-tuner SVC (Special Vehicle Concepts) with a Whipple supercharger, which should give the car's stock 6.2-liter V8 a lot more power.

As for turning a desert truck into a snow murderer, Block turned to Mattracks, who provides the hardware, make tread setups for almost everything from ATVs to Subarus, and now apparently Ford Raptors. With a contact patch that's significantly larger than a traditional tire, tracks make it possible to roll over obstacles that would flatten round rubber. Beyond a lift for clearance, no modification is generally required to fit them.

The lucky bastard plans to use it for "backcountry snowboarding expeditions."

Though Block planned to reveal his treaded Raptor "mystery project" tomorrow, it seems Ford's Truck Communications Manager Mike Levine saw fit to drop what he's calling "RaptorTRAX" on us today!
