The 2015 Infiniti QX80 has been subtly tweaked to look a little more closely related to the Q50 sedan and get a larger rear bumper. It's a little sleeker up front, but the style is still polarizing. A "Limited" trim with even more chrome will also join the lineup for 2015.
A new lower-grille and raked fog lights give the SUV a higher-performance look, though I'm not sure if it works with the 22" wheels and stratospheric ride height.
A QX-load of new accessories is coming on to the order form, including "High Beam Assist" that automatically dims your high beams for oncoming cars, which it detects through the use of a camera.
Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) is a little more impressive; which keeps tabs on not only the car ahead of the QX but estimates the speed of the car in front of that.
The complete list of toys and acronyms (ready?) in the "Driver Assistance Package" is Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA) with Forward Emergency Braking and the new Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Backup Collision Intervention® (BCI), Intelligent Cruise Control (Full-Speed Range), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Distance Control Assist (DCA) and steering wheel switches for the Safety Shield technologies.
You'll have to spring for the "Deluxe Technology Package" to get the rest; Blind Spot Intervention® (BSI), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Advanced Climate Control System (ACCS), chrome mirror caps, Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) with auto-leveling headlights and headlight washers.
Nissan's 5.6 V8 engine is a carryover, output figures remain the same at 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque.
Infiniti is also introducing a Limited trim level to top the range for 2015 with even more chrome, dark wheels, "UltraSuede" interior trim, what I'm sure is an insane stereo, and a few special color options.
